I'm a broad- shouldered guy who can wear either L or XL, depending on the maker. I tried the XL in this workshirt, and was surprised to find that this shirt was much to big for me in every way. I exchanged for L, and the shirt is just a little snug, especially under the arms. I'm keeping the two I ordered because the overall shirt is really heavy canvas-like material, is an attractive western style, and seems to be very well made. A normal size L guy who doesn't work out would probably find this shirt just fine. A real bargain.

Carhartt quality speaks for itself. Always satisfied. Shirt fits a little tighter than expected on arms.

The fabric used in this shirt is really sturdy, and would stand up to pretty much anything you could do in it.I will be sending it back though, because I purchased it for my 40 inch chest husband in the medium size. It fits him perfectly(just like the photo of it,it is almost tailored). So it is a very rugged shirt that will not accomodate the heavy gardening and tree pruning activities I bought it for.

About Carhartt

If you're looking for durable, comfortable clothing and outerwear, few other brands can compete with Carhartt. Although the venerable Carhartt clothing company has become one of the most respected names in American work wear today, the brand comes from humble roots. Founded in 1889, the family-owned business started out in Detroit, Michigan with just two sewing machines and five employees. During The First World War, the company made uniforms for the US military and also manufactured work clothing for the Navy during WWII. Today, Carhartt clothing is still known for robust fabrics, top-notch construction and a great fit. From rugged Carhartt jackets and coveralls to jeans and shirts, this is one brand you can trust to deliver the real deal -- every time.
