As Expected

One might expect "relaxed fit" to be a little baggy and looking at Carhartt's site "relaxed" should be skinnier than "loose" but I'd term these to more accurately fit the loose description. Perhaps they are also supposed to be "shrink to fit" but that is not stated and the inseam in my 34 length runs a little over 35 inches and that combined with their high waist makes them overly long. I can only hope they do shrink or I'll have to roll them up/under. Compared to similar LL Bean lined jeans I purchased years ago they are quite similar but I think the denim portion of the LL Bean model was slightly sturdier. Another difference is that the front pockets in the LL Bean is between the denim and the flannel lining whereas in the Carhartt it's inward of the flannel. I have not yet found why these are 2nds and can't really attest to any long term attributes, but they do seem to be a quality product.
