SizingVerified Buyer Reviewed by Mattiemay from Tennessee on Wednesday, November 8, 2017Loved them but have to return....Didn’t have size 6 so tried 8’s, way to big. So disappointed to have missed these they would’ve been perfect for all the yard work and gardening i do. They’re no longer available, at least i can’t find them anywhere!
Great work pants; pocket openings are a bit small.Verified Buyer Reviewed by Misti from Colorado on Saturday, October 21, 2017These are a nice, lighter-weight alternative to the double-layer canvas Carhartt pants. They are still very rugged and durable, suitable for doing all kinds of heavy, dirty work (I wear them for building, construction, demolition, painting, etc.), but a bit easier to move around in than are the double-knee pants. I give them four stars, instead of five, only because the openings for the main front pockets are a bit smaller than I would like. It takes some effort to get my hands in them without gloves, and with gloves on it is impossible. I wear my Carhartts big, so I can't speak to the "no gapping in the back", but the fit is very comfortable and appropriately roomy. I got the black color; it is very attractive and a nice change from the ubiquitous Carhartt brown/
quality product/weird fitVerified Buyer Reviewed by judykar2 from PA on Saturday, October 21, 2017Extremely well made and thick quality duck material; however, just a very strange fit for me. The waist was narrow so a little snug, and the bottom area had a very flattening effect. It's like they used the pattern for the men's pants and just pulled in the waist a bit. Had to return.
Get these while you can!Verified Buyer Reviewed by StihlWoman from Reno on Monday, September 25, 2017The original Carhartt tough jean for women. I don't think they makes tehse anymore, so if you find a pair and you want them for tough conditions, get them! I looked around quite a bit for a pair of women's Carhartt duck pants that I used to own 10 years ago. But all the stores seem to carry for women are some very flimsy Carhartt pants, which are soft. I think too many women complained about the duck fabric being stiff and rough in the skin, so Carhartt made this far less burly version. But, they rip very fast and wear out quickly. If you want tough pants to hold up for years, you need to find the Straugh version. I bought these in a size 8 short and I am 5-2 133lbs. They fit great in length, but due to the dense duck fabric, are inflexible around the hips and upper thigh. The crotch is also terribly annoying to walk in. BUT, these were the pants I wanted so I did a little "breaking in" to get them squared away. I'm building some trail tomorrow, and the hike in is 2 miles. I needed to soften these up a bit so I wouldn't go crazy hiking in tight around my legs pants, and so they'd be flexible enough to start working in. I washed in cold and hung to dry. Then I laid the pants over my big metal vise on my tool bench, and beat them with a rubber mallet. I focused beating the areas that were the tightest, thinking I could break up the fibers a bit and therefore stretch the fabric a tad. Totally worked! That being said, I gave Carhartt 4 stars just because this is a pant for women, and a little addition of stretch here and there would make all the difference. Also, the gigantic waist is ridiculous, but...belt...solved. I don't think these are offered anymore, so my suggestions will probably fall on deaf ears. Anyway, glad I found a pair, found a way to modify, and the price is amazing!
Nice but StiffVerified Buyer Reviewed by TB from Mn on Thursday, September 7, 2017Typical Carhart quality, but will take many, many washes to soften them up and make them comfortable. Also, my pair had a button hole much too small and needed to be lengthened to work.
The fit is very nice.
Great work pantsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Farmer Lorran from California on Wednesday, July 5, 2017These pants are perfect for doing yard work and chores on my ranch.
Horrible pocketsVerified Buyer Reviewed by JT from MA on Wednesday, June 28, 2017Once again a pair of women's pants have shallow front pockets making them useless. I am returning these and buying mens. I wish manufacturers would design women's pants with normal pockets -
Not great for my figureVerified Buyer Reviewed by Karen from Wisconsin on Sunday, May 21, 2017I'm 5'2" and weigh about 135 lbs. Although I like the weight of the fabric and overall fit of these pants, they gap terribly in the back waist. I wish I could keep them, but I don't feeling like cinching in several extra inches of waistband with a belt.
Not for casual useVerified Buyer Reviewed by Kim from houston on Tuesday, May 9, 2017If you're framing a house or cutting down a tree these are the pants for you. The fabric is very stiff and durable, I'm hoping they will soften up after a few washes. The fit is good and the description is truly accurate, no exaggeration
Nice but largeVerified Buyer Reviewed by T-racer from Pacific Northwest on Tuesday, May 9, 2017Way too big for fir me but they seem like sturdy work pants. I own the men's standard Carhartt pants and these aappear to be the same quality. I'm 5'5" 120lb and the 4 was way too large. I bet a 2 would work but it's not available. Oh well!
