Loved them but have to return....Didn’t have size 6 so tried 8’s, way to big. So disappointed to have missed these they would’ve been perfect for all the yard work and gardening i do. They’re no longer available, at least i can’t find them anywhere!
  • Great work pants; pocket openings are a bit small.

These are a nice, lighter-weight alternative to the double-layer canvas Carhartt pants. They are still very rugged and durable, suitable for doing all kinds of heavy, dirty work (I wear them for building, construction, demolition, painting, etc.), but a bit easier to move around in than are the double-knee pants. I give them four stars, instead of five, only because the openings for the main front pockets are a bit smaller than I would like. It takes some effort to get my hands in them without gloves, and with gloves on it is impossible. I wear my Carhartts big, so I can't speak to the "no gapping in the back", but the fit is very comfortable and appropriately roomy. I got the black color; it is very attractive and a nice change from the ubiquitous Carhartt brown/

Extremely well made and thick quality duck material; however, just a very strange fit for me. The waist was narrow so a little snug, and the bottom area had a very flattening effect. It's like they used the pattern for the men's pants and just pulled in the waist a bit. Had to return.

The original Carhartt tough jean for women. I don't think they makes tehse anymore, so if you find a pair and you want them for tough conditions, get them! I looked around quite a bit for a pair of women's Carhartt duck pants that I used to own 10 years ago. But all the stores seem to carry for women are some very flimsy Carhartt pants, which are soft. I think too many women complained about the duck fabric being stiff and rough in the skin, so Carhartt made this far less burly version. But, they rip very fast and wear out quickly. If you want tough pants to hold up for years, you need to find the Straugh version. I bought these in a size 8 short and I am 5-2 133lbs. They fit great in length, but due to the dense duck fabric, are inflexible around the hips and upper thigh. The crotch is also terribly annoying to walk in. BUT, these were the pants I wanted so I did a little "breaking in" to get them squared away. I'm building some trail tomorrow, and the hike in is 2 miles. I needed to soften these up a bit so I wouldn't go crazy hiking in tight around my legs pants, and so they'd be flexible enough to start working in. I washed in cold and hung to dry. Then I laid the pants over my big metal vise on my tool bench, and beat them with a rubber mallet. I focused beating the areas that were the tightest, thinking I could break up the fibers a bit and therefore stretch the fabric a tad. Totally worked! That being said, I gave Carhartt 4 stars just because this is a pant for women, and a little addition of stretch here and there would make all the difference. Also, the gigantic waist is ridiculous, but...belt...solved. I don't think these are offered anymore, so my suggestions will probably fall on deaf ears. Anyway, glad I found a pair, found a way to modify, and the price is amazing!
  • Nice but Stiff

Typical Carhart quality, but will take many, many washes to soften them up and make them comfortable. Also, my pair had a button hole much too small and needed to be lengthened to work.
    The fit is very nice.
