Great for working around the house and playing outside with kids or dog. This is a sweatshirt, pure utilitarian no trendy aspirations. Nice and thick all over and the hood is great - not too shallow and stays on even over my ponytail:)

Carhartt quality. Inside has a mesh lining which is a little weird, but it's warm, snug and doesn't ride IP.

The jacket ran a size large, in my opinion. It's roomy compared to other Mediums and the sleeves were way too long, so I think sizing down would be a perfect fit. I was unable to find any flaws or blemishes with the jacket after careful examination for all that this is of "2nds" quality. It's a thicker jacket for colder weather, and it would appear to be great for chilly weather. The gentleman friend has the men's version and loves it - he's been wearing it in the cooler ND/SD weather and says he hasn't found anything to complain about. The thermal lining is a really nice plus. It gets 4 stars because I'm living vicariously through the gentleman friend, but also because the sizing is a tad off in my opinion. Other reviewers have also noted this brand runs large.

For reference, I'm 5'3", 34-28-40, broad shoulders, usually a Medium, occasionally a Large in outerwear. Sadly I had to return, but am keeping an eye out for a Small to become available!

Just what I needed. A nice, heavy sweatshirt. Other than the sleeves being a bit long(no big deal),this fit me fine. Ordered a small. I'm 5'2" and 115lbs. Great for wearing alone or under a chore coat.

A very nice, heavy jacket. Washes well. Seems just a tad snug.

I tried this on as soon as I got it, it is so heavy, feels heavier than a winter coat! Very impressed!!

About Carhartt

If you're looking for durable, comfortable clothing and outerwear, few other brands can compete with Carhartt. Although the venerable Carhartt clothing company has become one of the most respected names in American work wear today, the brand comes from humble roots. Founded in 1889, the family-owned business started out in Detroit, Michigan with just two sewing machines and five employees. During The First World War, the company made uniforms for the US military and also manufactured work clothing for the Navy during WWII. Today, Carhartt clothing is still known for robust fabrics, top-notch construction and a great fit. From rugged Carhartt jackets and coveralls to jeans and shirts, this is one brand you can trust to deliver the real deal -- every time.
