Worhorse pants

Whether working in the yard or in the pits as part of a Grand-Am race team, I wear these solid, hard-working Carhartt twill work pants. The fabric is a bit stiff when new, but after wearing and washing them a few times they begin to soften up and are extraordinarily durable and comfortable. The tightly woven fabric has excellent abrasion resistance - important when working around briars and other thorn-infested plants. I have several pairs of these that I've worn for outdoor work for more than 7years and, although worn, are as tough as the day I bought them.

The pants I've gotten from STP are usually 2nds, but the defects are generally impossible to find. Usually I notice an uneven stitch on an interior seam. I probably wouldn't know they were 2nds if they weren't advertised as such.
