Had to order a shorter size

It was unclear why these were seconds when ordering, so went off sizing chart Charhartt provided, which even specified for this style how to size for wearing over clothes. As a result the waist was spot on, but ordering a 32" length I found them too long and suspenders would not shorten enough. I normally wear a 30"-32" inseam, depending on manufacturer, so was not entirely surprised. Carhartt rep stated all bib overalls have same length suspenders, so returned to Sierra Trading Post (STP) and ordered 30" inseam, which fit like a charm. STP made exchange super easy, covering shipping both ways and I could not find any other reason Carhartt would mark these irregular for either pair, so probably length is the issue. Otherwise quite pleased with the features as they kept me comfortable on a very windy 30 degree day when paired with the medium insulated Carhartt Rancher coat purchased at the same time. Zip to thigh zipper meant did not need to take boots off. Found number/placement of pockets to be quite satisfactory. "Cleanout bottoms" feature not noted by STP but both insulated pair and R37 Carhartt Unlined Dual Hammer Loop Duck Bib Overalls ordered from STP after being so satisfied with insulated ones had this feature. I had never had a pair with these ~3" openings at the bottom of the double front to insert knee pads but seems incredibly useful. Later found some pads on Amazon (less than four bucks for a set of four sealed US Army surplus knee/elbow pads). Look forward to using them as they fit perfectly - much better than cutting foam, contoured and not too thick & bulky.
