Verified Buyer Reviewed by Auburndale Jake from California on Tuesday, December 15, 2015These shoes are very comfortable, lace up nicely and are great for the purpose the are intended as work shoes. At closeout prices they were a steal.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Bargainmagnet from New Hampshire on Wednesday, December 3, 2014These are definitely a weird fitting shoe. I usually wear 11 but went with 11.5 based on reviews. Narrow in the middle of the foot and toe, the right length but wider in the heel which slipped. Additionally, the inner upper lining for the toe box was not fitted correctly and buckled into the back of my toes on both shoes. Left side more so. I know better than to hope they will form.. Going back for credit.
Reviewed by GnG from Florida on Wednesday, February 19, 2014Loved the quality of the shoe but was just too narrow and too short. I wear a size 11 and could not fit my foot into the shoe, Feels one width too narrow and one size too small.
Reviewed by Working Man from Oregon on Tuesday, November 19, 2013Can't help but wonder if these should have been marked 2nds because of the size issues. I originally ordered 13, my regular size, which were too small. I sent them back and got the next size larger, a 14, which won't snug down tight enough and allows the heel to slip out of the shoe. I am going to try some insets to see if it helps, perhaps an extra thick pair of socks now that it's cooler.
Too bad, I really wanted to give these 5 stars because they are very nicely made other than the sizing issues.
Reviewed by Gobose from Atlanta on Tuesday, November 5, 2013Many have complained about them being too tight in the width. So I ordered a 1/2 size larger and when I put them on for the first time, they did indeed feel tight in the width (D Width). I almost re-boxed them for return. But after about 1 hour, they felt fine but were slightly long. I've had to snug them up 100% in order to keep my heel from slipping.
I've noticed that on uneven surfaces the steel portion of the toe digs harshly into your toe. But that seemed to be eliminated once I snugged up the laces. But I think they are best for level surfaces like a concrete floor vs in the yard on slopping surfaces.
If I can find them at the same price I paid before, I will buy another pair (perhaps two) for the long term. I wish they were leather lined but that seems to be from a by-gone era at this point. I have very heavy wool socks that will be used in the future over my thinner work socks. If you have heavy weight hiking socks that are of a dense wool, they should help on uneven terrain.
They far surpass using your gym shoes for indoor/outdoor (caveat as mentioned) work and having broken a toe recently, I'll be wearing these a lot more often going forward.
