I accidentally ordered 2 of these rods. Freudian slip, perhaps, because I had the perfect place for the extra rod.
Nice quality, given the price. Let's face it -- most rods these days are plastic. At least these are metal. Not heavy, but fine for cotton curtains.
The finials are BIG, so these ar... Read More

  • “This item (I purchased the antique gold one) did not come with instructions. There are two main rod pieces and I cannot figure out how they're supposed to go together. One half has a smaller telescoping piece that is inside a bigger piece. The other half has a small extension inside the main bigger piece, and this small extension is like a cuff (has a strip out of it so that it can be squeezed to be a bit adjustable). I'm not sure if this small extension is supposed to go inside the smaller telescoping piece of the other side, or is supposed to clip on to the outside of the small telescoping piece of the other side. Unfortunately, testing which of these scenarios would work best would scratch the paint all up. Please help!”

    • The two main rod pieces connect together by using the "cuff" which squeezes to go inside both of the main pieces. Push both of the pieces together until they are flush. This may scratch the cuff a little. The smaller rod piece then goes into the end of the main rod, then the end caps can be tightened into place on the ends of the smaller piece and the main piece.

  • “Which size rings slide best and fit this rod? I see both 1 in. In 10/pk and larger in 7/pk
If extended to 120in with three brackets (each end & middle) will this rod hold one or two (96x84")ThermaLogic insulated curtains over a patio door? The curtains don't have a weight on package.”
Asked by Too much glass from Washington on 12/2/2013 6:33:25 PM
    • I used this rod with grommet panels, the rod will hold the 96 X 84 curtains, I might go with the larger ring just for easier movement over the patio door.

  • “Would it be possible to shorten the rod to 40" by cutting off a short piece? Thank you!”
Asked by Bill from Montana on 6/12/2013 3:49:39 PM
    • Cutting the rod is not recommended a better alternative would be to order a shorter rod such as 5418P.
