The first time tried to get them on, I couldn't. The arch was so high I just couldn't get my foot into them (I'm a 7.5, and ordered a 7.5). I needed a shoe horn. They were so painful, worse than any shoe I'd ever worn, that I couldn't get them off fast enough. I decided to try again and wore them around the house a while. Still not good.
Not wanting to give up I wore them to an event lasting several hours, and surprisingly enough I wasn't in agony. In fact, I started to get used to them. I wore them again last night, and am starting to think I really like these shoes. I still use a shoe horn, but can see I probably won't always have to. I don't know if I'm getting used to them, or if they're getting used to me, but I'm starting to really like the fit of these shoes. The arch is high, and it almost feels a bit too far forward to me, but I have a feeling that might be because they're a different animal from most shoes I've been wearing. They're well made and look great. In another month I might give them a 5; I'm most definitely going to keep them and might even get another pair!
