Great Footware

These Chacos are great. I was surprised at the weight...the soles are very heavy...but can go rock climbing in these. They are sturdy, have great traction on wet and dry rock. I wore these on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon and on daily side hikes and scrambling. They handled it perfectly and show virtually no wear despite the rough handling and abuse I dished out on them.
So why 4 stars instead of 5? My one complaint with this style of Chacos is that the toe loop and the strap over the ball of the foot are really hard to adjust when the sandals are new and even harder once they have been worn in sand and silt. Once they are set you are normally good to go. If your feet or toes tend to swell or if you find you need to adjust them at some point, you will have your work cut out for you. Other than the adjustability thing, these things are bomber.
