About Chaco Zong EcoTread Sandals (For Women)

Closeouts. The slip-on, backless design of Chaco's Zong EcoTread sandals makes them an easy, casual favorite, but the anatomic LUVSEAT footbed, grippy outsole and foot-securing straps make them equally useful for short hikes and watery adventures.

Love Chacos!

I love my new Chacos! I've watched them for almost a year, and I finally got them at a GREAT price - price paid (including shipping) was less than half of retail! I said this completes my Chacos wardrobe (5th pair), but. . .

This is my first pair of Chaco's I've read a lot about them and knew they would be comfortable. I like the idea of adjustable straps all around your foot. I adjusted them to fit snug but comfortable at first. My first wear of them started out good but after walking not very far the extra strap slack through the buckle pulled up so it was loose over my instep. I thought okay, I'll keep trying this. The farther I walked the strap started tightening around my toe to the point of being too tight. I stopped walking a few times to adjust them as best I could. I was shopping so I couldn't spend a lot of time adjusting them and didn't feel like I should have to anyway. Why isn't there some kind of locking system so the straps won't moved that much. I really like these sandals and I'll try them again but ultimately I don't think that these are going to be my favorite sandals.

Beware! These run a size too small!
  • Smaller than other Chaco styles

These felt like they would be comfortable, and would be cute if they fit properly. I have tried Chaco Unaweep, Yampa, and Updraft styles, and they all fit pretty much the same (on me), but the Zong was much smaller, so I had to return them. The size 6 sandal was 1/2 inch shorter than my Unaweep sandals in size 6, so my heels hung off the back end of the sandals.

I just bought this pair of Chacos ,and they are so cute!!!The pattern is so cute and feels great to wear! The only thing I found was that there isn't a back piece of the pattern material on back of the shoes, but if you tighten the straps by what it tells you in the box there will be no problem of your foot sliding out of the shoe! They have a great sole to the bottom of the shoe! They really give. They can get wet or dirt by hiking and it will come off!!!Worth the money, and like the price on this website better because I almost bought the exact one with a back piece for $100.00 plus tax at the store.Best shoe you'll buy!You will love everything about them!!I have really high arches in my feet because I have hiper extended feet and they feel much better than the cheap flip-flops everyone wears!LOL

  • “Hi, I have a problem with chacos that have thin straps that go around the big toe - the problem is that it tightens up on me pretty bad while I am walking around and I am constantly having to adjust them! Anyone know if this shoe would do that too? TIV”

    • I have had that problem with one shoe of one pair out of probably a dozen pairs of Chaco sandals, and it was one with the strap around the back of the ankle too. I couldn't guarantee that it won't happen with these but the odds should be against. It has not happened to me with these. What I observed of the one sandal where I had the problem was that the straps moved easily within the rubber sole -- normally they're quite tight -- so my walking pattern and the way my foot moved continued to tighten the toe strap. What I wonder, and intend to try myself once I'm sure I have the straps adjusted so they are all comfortable, is if a bit of glue in the area where the one strap that moves too much and tightens could hold it in place, stabilize it. Maybe a small piece of duct tape would be a good way to try that first.

About Chaco

There's a good reason why Chaco shoes have maintained a devoted following of adventurous souls (proudly known as Chaconians) for more than 25 years. From the incredible, arch-supporting footbed to the totally unique strap configuration, Chaco sandals fit like a glove and provide amazing support. Originally created by Mark Paigen in 1989, Chaco sandals have since evolved from a single pair of “Ultimate Sport Sandals” into an array of adventure-ready footwear products, including Chaco boots, sneakers and even clogs. Plus, to reduce waste and help loyal Chaconians get more miles out of their favorite kicks, this brand has even introduced the ReChaco Project, which allows customers to send in their worn or damaged sandals to be repaired.
