Verified Buyer Reviewed by Gerry from CT on Thursday, November 23, 2017I had been watching and longing for these amazing Chippewa shoes for a while. When I finally got a sale price that I couldn't resist, I ordered them and couldn't be happier. The fit of size 13 is perfect for my size 13.5 feet; so I would say they run just a tad bit long. They have broken in quickly. The quality of the build lets me know that these will be my favorite shoes for a long, long time. I have received compliments on my shoes each time I have worn them. I wish STP had other colors in my size!
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Kevin from Alabama on Friday, November 17, 2017Excellent shoes, my only complaint is they arrived with one black lace and one brown lace.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by James in Milwaukee from Wisconsin on Friday, November 10, 2017These shoes appear to be made of decent materials, but are not put together very well. I bought 2 sizes in case they ran small or large. Both pair felt uncomfortable. If you can tolerate cheap shoes, go for it. I don't and returned them.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Northern Likes from WI on Sunday, November 5, 2017They fit well and look great with quality, real leather. The brown color is such that it matches many colors. They are heavier than the lightweight Rockports, but the sole seems like it will last. My experience with light soles is that they crack after 1-2 years.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by KGL from Boston on Wednesday, November 1, 2017My husband bought these for everyday wear. He's usually a size 12 1/2 but these were only available in whole sizes so he bought the 13 and it's fine. The shoes are excellent quality and seem like they'll last a long time. A great buy!

“Are these shoes supposed to come with removable footbeds? The description says "cushiony footbed" but the shoes I received have a very hard (solid) insole. I'm assuming that normally the footbeds are included otherwise the reviews would have mentioned that they don't come with the shoes. ”
I don't think these have removeable footbeds. The shoes (my husband's) seem to have a hard insole as well. By the way, he normally wears an 11, but he got a 10.5 in these, and they fit just fine. Maybe if you ordered a half size up, you could put your own footbed in.
Mine do not have a removable insole. The toothed is basically a heavy paper. Nevertheless, once broken in a little, they are quite comfortable. Mine required a little flexing on one side below the ankle bone.
The quality is excellent. Chippewa makes nice shoes and boots.
They have a very hard insole. There is a leather covering for the heel. That is the foot bed. You can add an insert to suit your needs. These are utility shoes and not gym shoes.
Mine don't have a removable insole, yet the almost identical ones from a famous Maine company do. The advantage of not having it is a breathable leather built-in insole--but yes, it is rather hard.
My shoes did not come With a removable footbed. I Would say "cushiony footbed" is an exaggeration but it is comfortable. This type of shoe won't feel like cushy sneakers, they are somewhere between dress shoes and work boots. I'm on my feet all day and I find them comfortable.
My husband has two pairs of these and I checked both....there is no removable insole. The footbed is very hard/solid. He likes them but they are NOT cushiony.
This item does not come with a removable footbed.
There is no removable insole. I have only had mine for about two weeks. I have not felt the need to use an insert thus far. Typically I do use one, especially as I get older and feel more desire to save my joints. If you plan to add an insert you may want to order the shoe 1/2 size larger.
