These are much heavier and sturdier than most shoes (expect some break-in). In tan, the leather is a beautiful mottled color the likes of which I've only otherwise seen on a handmade backpack in Spain. I have an almost identical shoe rebranded by a famous Maine company. I normally take a 10 or 10.5 but got these in 9.5--not quite as roomy, somehow, as the other branded version, but still much bigger than average. They soles are not great in ice or snow, and the laces are too short.
