Excellent quality boots

Love these boots, especially at this price! Originally ordered size 10 in black. I typically wear a size 10 or 10.5 and have a slightly wider foot. These fit great. I can't wear them with really thick socks, but they fit well with normal socks. Great arch support, good grip on the sole, comfort... Read More

  • Terrible factory seconds
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Joe from Taiwan on Friday, April 13, 2018
This is my first time shopping at STP. I knew they were factory seconds before purchase, but still hoped got a pair of good shoes. However I was wrong. They are barely usable and far from accetable. The left shoe is OK -- no noticeable defects . The right one is awful-- the welt around the front part is a total failure-- unevenly trimmed; not even bothered to be painted and seemed like a rough semi-finished product. What's worse, the tongue was unevenly cut, so one wing is longer than the other. Hence the tongue never stays in the middle and tilts back to one side of the shaft. According to your definition of 2nds : "These are items with barely perceptible blemishes or slight irregularities that do not affect fit, performance or longevity ", with the tongue always slants back to one side, how could I wear them normally with comfort? And how could Chippewa or STP ever let this poorly made and seriously faulty shoe available on the market although I bought them at a good discount ? If I had knew this pair of shoe were made with horrible craftsmanship like that, I would have spared the time and money for something really worthy. I live abroad, not sure want to return them but very disappointed with STP and Chippewa.

Great boots in terms of craftsmanship, style
  • Great quality

These are good boots! Yes, they are stiff, and need some breaking in, but they are going to last a long time, and will only get better the more you wear them. I ordered a size 6, would have ordered 6.5 if available, so I was a bit worried they’d be tight, but the 6 fits just right.
  • Fits True To Size!
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Kungwan from Taiwan on Monday, March 26, 2018
I did some research before buying this boot for a family member. Thanks to the comments left by previous buyers, I was confident to order "true-to-size" the US women's size 7 according to STP sizing guide chart (for a 235mm length foot). It was a relief the fit was just right when we tried the boot on. There is still some break-in time left for this boot in one foot, but we are sure that it will be very comfy and durable.

We received the boot with different yellow and brown taslan laces, and not the flat waxed laces as shown in the picture on the website. However, we are just as pleased with the taslan laces and decided to keep the boots anyway.

The price for this boot is a made the purchase a no-brainer. Even with international shipping, we still got a good deal for a great product. Will purchase again from STP. :)

**One other concern I have is: I am informed by my bank that each time I place an order with STP, I will need to notify my bank of the impending credit card transaction for approval as a security measure, because the bank has flagged the transaction as "risky".

  • “I really like these boots and they fit perfect in length and width but, I can't keep my heel from slipping. Is anyone else experiencing this??”
Asked by kmk from Wi on 2/15/2018 7:13:40 PM
    • I have that problem in a lot of shoes because i have narrow heels. I use Dr Scholls Tri-Comfort, which has a lot of arch/heel support and keeps my heels where they belong. I hope this helps.

    • These are a regular medium width. According to our fit team this item is running true to size. All of the products that we sell are guaranteed authentic.

    • Yes, these appear to be authentic Chippewa. I would say that they run pretty true-to-size. I wear a 9.5-10 and have a medium-width foot. I ordered the 10, which is a tad large, even with wool socks, but the width is fine (roomy, even).
