That Capacity's Gotta be WrongReviewed by Chris S. from U.S. on Thursday, March 1, 2018It looks good, certainly. The straps make it feel secure. The pockets are varied, sure. Fantastically enough, it even feels less heavy than the messenger bag I was replacing it with.
But it can't be the capacity it says it has. 976 cubic inches? I measured the typical necessities I'd been porting around week after week, and their combined total was approximately half that size. The problem now is the pack feels incredibly snug, and I'm not confident it has the ability to stretch anymore than it has. I really, really needed the wiggle room. Now every time I look at that picture on the item's page with all the stuff crammed inside of it, it doesn't look right that they were able to fit that shoe and that camera inside--even as haphazardly as they're being presented there.
As for other shortcomings, I think that the maximum length on the shoulder strap may be just a little bit too small. At its maximum length, it feels okay to me, but on the very bare minimum of what would feel natural.
I really like the look and feel of this bag, but a messenger bag is an item that performs a function, and that function needs to be core to its design. Design isn't just about eye appeal; it's also engineering. If only this had the room to upgrade what I can carry, then I'd really consider it a stellar product.
That just can't be the correct capacity.

“How abrasive is the finish of the bag? Is it like Cordura nylon or it more like polished nylon? I used many messenger and guide bags, and found that most abraded my coats mercilessly, prematurely ending the usefulness of the knit hems. The only bag that minimally impacted my coats was a ten year old Timbuk2 classic messenger, which is approaching retirement. I long for manufacturers to make a silky smooth bag.
