5.0 out of 5 stars. Great travel knife.

So cheap that if they take it from me, as happens occasionally traveling (i do pack it for flights, silly!) it's no big loss. Quite a nice knife though. Even if the steel is junk (and I don't think it is), its great for what I need it to be. Clip is easily removed and replaced with a lanyard: a MUCH better way to carry it. Pocket clips scream "I HAVE A KNIFE!"... NOT SOMETHING I WANT TO SAY! Also they can slip out of the pocket when squatting, or brushing up against something. A lanyard can allow you to carry it on the DL, get it out of the pocket with wet/dirty hands, go around the wrist to avoid dropping it, (boaters???) , hang it on a hook, peg, branch, railing etc, plus several other plusses. It baffles me to see so many use clips.

About Coast Products

Headquartered in Portland since 1919, COAST Products was founded by Henry Brands and started out with a single product: a specialized fillet knife designed specifically for slicing, cleaning and filleting salmon. At the time, Brands was selling his handmade knives from the back of a Model T Ford along with other specialty hardware products. After taking over his father’s company in 1952, Henry Brands Jr. continued to expand the business to include even more COAST knives. Henry’s son David eventually took over the company in the ‘80s and has since grown the company even further to include COAST flashlights, headlamps, lanterns and multi-tools. If you demand rugged, functional hardware at an unbeatable price point, don’t miss COAST knives and flashlights.
