“Can I wear this in rain/snow? ”

Asked by Bella the explorer from New York on 8/25/2015 9:23:55 AM
  • It is fleece so is a bit water repellent, but not for long! It is not very heavy/warm for the snow. In the snow I would use it under a waterproof shell.

  • I live in rainy Oregon and usually wear a fleece jacket AND a waterproof shell jacket when the rain hits. The fleece alone will get wet and soggy.

  • Fleece jackets are not waterproof and will get wet and stay wet. In cold-wet weather, you should dress in layers such as a polyester base layer (wicks away moisture from skin); fleece or wool mid-layer (warmth); and waterproof outerlayer. This jacket is fine for dry, cool weather alone or worn under a waterproof outer-coat or jacket when it is wet.

  • No. You would get soaked. It does keep you warm though.

  • You can wear this in the rain/snow if you want to, but it will most likely soak through rather quickly.
