Most Helpful 3-Star Review
Reviewed by Primrose Hill from Midwest on Tuesday, November 9, 2010This coat overall has a streamlined, stylish "look". I loved the idea that it was black, waterproof, warm, breathable, Columbia Titanium, etc. However, there were some issues that made me return it. Firstly, the sleeves are very long. I got a small, and still the sleeves were about 7 inches longer than my wrist - they covered my whole hand. I do have slightly short arms for my height (5'5"), so generally I'm used to sleeves on a size small being 1 or 2 inches too long, but not this much. Secondly, the inside fabric is not very smooth - it's "grabby" of other fabrics that you are wearing. Because it's 100% polyester and it does not slide against your top's fabric but rather pulls on it, if you are actively moving around, you build up static cling quickly, and even when just trying this on, there was so much static produced that my hair stood on end and I could hear loud crackles when I took the coat off. I tried it on with a cotton top, wool top, and fleece top -- all produced static electricity within 2 minutes of casually moving around. Thirdly, it might have just been my particular coat (production flaw), but when it was zipped up, a section of the zipper poofed out right below my chest area, making it look like I was carrying a grapefruit on top of my tummy, or had a third 'girl' below the normal two (ha). Fit is not so crucial with athletic wear, but still, I would have been self-conscious in certain public situations because my side profile looked odd.
- Cons: Causes static cling, Lining, Poor Fit
- Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser
- Length: Feels true to length
- Pros: Blocks Wind, Flattering, Nice Color, Stylish
- Sizing: Feels too small
- Sleeve Length: Feels too long
