Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Reviewed by Dan the Biker from Connecticut on Monday, January 27, 2014I wear a medium in most everything. These bibs were way too big. I'm a 32 waist and these were about a 35. I wished they had a small. The quality looked great.
Reviewed by roberto from Michigan on Saturday, December 28, 2013Overall these seem like really nice bibs. They are very comfortable and seem very warm. I have not put them thru a tough test of "waterproofness" yet.
I ordered the size M. I am 5/9 and160#. The inseam is quite long (and my legs are short) so I had to hem them a few inches (no problem). The overall fit is very roomy, which is good for me so I can layer up or wear padded shorts underneath (I use them for kiteboarding and skiing)
The big chest pocket is nice, and the 2 side zipper pockets have a fleece lining on one side, and the back pocket has a double fold grippy velcro closure (seems very secure).
The lining has a silvery finish to it, which supposedly improves warmth. I've only had these out in about 25F with 15-20 mph so far, and they seem suer warm with a thin merino baselayer bottom. I am hoping to use them in -15 windchill in the next few days. These would be great for riing up the lifts and staying warm. There are 2 crotch vent zips that would also come in handy
I don't know if these came in other colors, but I got the green/black checker. The fabric has a really nice appearance and feel to it. I wish there was a blue/black color choice...but at the price I think this is an awesome set of bibs. I might not be inclined to use these as a super technical winter climbing/expedition pant...they are almost too nice for that and maybe a little heavy (?)...but I'll put them thru the ringer with my winter activities and see how they perform and last.
Reviewed by OlyWAOutdoorMom from Washington on Thursday, December 26, 2013Keep you dry and comfortable. Perfect for Pacific NW snowsports where you just want the shell and the option to layer on colder days. It is really hard to find waterproof bibs with these technical features for anywhere near the price. Great pockets, easy on and off, highly adjustable shoulder straps, nice gaitors that grip perfectly. With a solid jacket the plaid is not too much and it's a nice green color. Can't go wrong with these.
Reviewed by guntherwunther from santa fe nm on Monday, December 9, 2013The omni heat actually works. Temps have been in the teens and the pants do keep you warmer than my previous ones. They run a little long, but work fine if rolled up. You are skiing so who cares about the look?
Reviewed by The Bike Doc from Texas on Tuesday, November 26, 2013Great outer layer pants that block the cold wind and rain. I got these for riding my motorcycle in the cold wet and the bibs help retain body warmth to the chest and block the chilling drafts that sneak up the bottom of my winter riding coat. I am 6 ft 2 inches tall, 34 inch in seam but a slender 145 lbs. I bought the large for the length and for wearing over my leather, padded motorcycle pants and heavy sweater, they work great for this with enough room to slide over the bulk. But if I were to get these for hiking or outdoor work were I would be generating more body heat, and needed less bulk of layers, I would go with the medium size for a trimmer fit. There was a low rating for no fly to the crotch but for what I want and the added waterproof and durability of a no fly zone, I am not the least bit disappointed. None of my other rain pants have a crotch fly for the same reason. The pan legs have enough width to slide over my boots and the built in gaiters block the wind coming up the pant legs. However, I have to be slow and deliberate in pulling the legs over the boots and pulling them off of them. There is a right sided zipper from axilla to waist and only the right shoulder strap unclips for putting on and taking them off. Not much different than putting on a pair of overalls by unsnapping the buttons and shoulder strap on just one side. This also works to make the snow pants warmer and more windproof. Overall a well thought out design. Worth twice what I paid.
