Reviewed by Winter Walker from International Falls, MN (Icebox of the Nation) on Monday, March 3, 2014I have 3 different styles of Columbia Snow Pants and like them all. They are all a little different from the other but all are great. I am an outdoorsman. I don't downhill ski so my opinion are based on walking in snowshoes and just being out in in the cold. I normally wear a large but opted for the XL in these to allow a little more room for layering. Problem I had was the inseam was too long. I hemmed the cuffs 3" and put a band of elastic in the cuff to snug up the bell bottom. The pants are light in weight and are warm. On the insides of the legs near the crotch there are zippers for letting out heat and it does make a difference when they are open. The outer material is not nylon which makes it softer and quieter when you walk. The pants have the Omni-Heat insulation although I can't really tell the difference in warmth when compared to the insulation in the Boiling Point 2 pants I also have. I do like the flip-up waist band. It keeps the drafts out and also helps keep the pants up. The bottom bells out quite a bit and has a snap closer so you can close it some once you get them on. For sizing I found these bigger all around than the XL Boiling Point 2 pants. The waistband has elastic velcro straps which give you a lot of take up. I like these pants.
