This works well with the Massachusetts laws on growler fills.

They are sturdy, keep beer or ice water cold all day, and even keep hot chocolate hot on a winter snowshoe trip. They are sturdy in use.
But, both of my orders of these specific growlers so far have had the growlers loose in a large box (as were orders for 2 other growlers: I'm not _that_ much of a lush: they're great gifts for friends & relatives). I don't mind the slight dent in the bottom of 2 of the growlers, but 1 growler in each shipment has had the black plastic hinge lid-retainer broken. The pieces were in teh box, so I assume the were broken in shipping not before. Just a bit of brown paper or bubble wrap around the tops of the growlers would be great! -

The ice didn't melt in the hot truck for at least a whole day! It is really too heavy to hike with, so we use it to refill our smaller containers throughout the day.

The first week I used it, i filled it with ice- it took over two days for the ice to melt. Now i just put it in the fridge overnight and it's still cold all day the next day. Accidentally left it in the car one time- it was so hot I couldn't touch the bottle but the contents were still cold!! Love the lid on this thing, makes it easy to carry and easy to open and close.

I can't comment on the functionality, but I can say that this looks like a very high quality item. The hinge that doubles as a handle is a great touch. The cap has a slight knurl, which makes opening and closing it easier on the hands. It is heavy enough to feel like it is good quality. Easily $50+ retail item.
