It is extremely warm. I went for a two hour walk at 11° with a 10-15 m.p.h. wind. After walking an while I warmed up and had to open the jacket. It has breathable waterproofing, but I have not testes it yet. The flexibility of the 3-in-1 will mean that it works at many temperatures. The fit is excellent if you follow Craghopper's sizing chart, which is mandatory. I love the old fashioned "parka" design and the below the hips length. I only gave it 4 stars because it does not have dedicated handwarmer pockets, which is unusual in much a quality jacket such as this.

We went with a XL, even though he usually wears a large, so that he could easily wear sweaters under it. He LOVES this coat. He loves the length, the fabrics, the pockets, the fact that the liner has a hood as well, and he loves that he can take the coats apart to wear separately, if he wishes. He also loves the high quality finishing touches. He says wearing the two coats together is like being in a cozy sleeping bag. He says it sheds even heavy rain very well, and that his co-workers are envious of his coat. Overall he has declared this coat a big winner!
