Simple light-duty jacket I carry in my hunting pack along with lightweight rain gear. Compresses down to less than half gallon size. Synthetic insulation, so unlike down it de-compresses well and would retain some warmth when wet. Should be good to about 45 if you're completely sedentary but I've be... Read More

This turned out to be a great jacket. It is much warmer than I anticipated for how light it feels. Sleeves are almost a tad short but I do have quite long arms, so the fit is still good.

First to everyone who said it runs small, wow it really runs small. I was going to return this I bought a XXL and I usually run between a XL and XXL, XXL's run pretty big on me. I'm a normal male I don't have Gymnast arms or anything. It's let's say snug.

I can probably get a base layer under this and not much else. It's tight in the shoulders in back too.

So I went to return it and by the time STP takes the shipping fee's out it wasn't worth it.

So now the good, after wearing it a few times, I have gotten used to it. It is well made and good materials in my opinion. When I first tried it on I thought it was not going to breathe well, but it does. It's meant to be light and it is. It is warm for its weight and I definitely wanted the hood. Not a lot of whistles and bells but it selling point is pack-ability and light weight.

It would have been perfect if it was a little larger, I would like a draw string around the hood and for me a little longer in the arms. I think I paid $31 ish for it on clearance and with shipping. For that price if I Hulk-it-out and seams split it might make it more comfortable. I was actually thinking of cutting the arms off at the elbow and sewing it closed, similar to what the Sitka Shacket looks like, basically a vest with short sleeves.

I bought this coat for my wife and liked it so much I bought another for me. For any price this is a great coat, but it is even better given the very low price. You will love this coat!

Appears to be well made of good materials. I am 6'2"/190+lbs/35" sleeves, and find the XL fits perfectly across the shoulders and in sleeve length, though I wouldn't want it any smaller. It fits close to the body, so I would not count on multiple and/or thick layers underneath. The Craghoppers website describes this as "Active Fit....Designed to contour the body with cutting in specific areas for a slim fitted feel."

This is a UK-based brand. This model has some favorable UK reviews on YouTube and outdoors review sites; these particular jackets are sold in the US through National Geographic's online store, so the inside label and a tiny tag underneath the right pocket have the NatGeo logo. My only design complaint is that it would be nice to have zippered chest pocket (inside or outside) to carry a phone. The only pockets are the two (generously large and warm) hand pockets.

About Craghoppers

The story behind Craghoppers jackets and apparel began in 1965 when a group of friends from Yorkshire, England started planning a trip to climb Mt. Everest. At the time, options for dependable, high-performance outerwear were pretty scant. Rather than settling for less than adequate gear, the friends decided to create their own, and the Craghoppers clothing company was born. Half a century later, Craghoppers jackets, pants, shorts and shirts are still helping people bag summits and stay comfortable on their adventures all across the globe. With features that range from lightweight, UV-resistant fabrics to Insect Shield® bug repellency, Craghoppers clothing is designed to get outdoors and go places.
