I was pleasantly surprised by how lightweight this jacket is. I know the description indicates "mesh construction" but looking at the pictures I did not realize most all of the jacket is a very fine mesh material. • Insect Shield is the best

I wasn't sure if this would work, but after 2 weeks of backpacking in Alaska I believe it! I'm usually the favorite meal for mosquitos, and while my friends were slapping them left and right I was happily zipped into this breathable, bug free hoody. Highly recommend! Even on warm days I was comfortable with this zipped over a tank top and didn't have any bugs biting through the light mesh.
  • Very soft fabric

This jacket is a great alternative to a similar-tech button down shirt I own. I like that the zipper pulls up a little higher to provide more coverage of your neck. The look is also more street-wear than safari-wear.

  • “I just received my order of this jacket. I do not see any hang tags or labels, stitched into the garment, that indicates that it is UPF 40+. There is plenty of information regarding the Insect Shield feature. I purchased this jacket for its UPF feature. Is it a UPF 40+ garment? Thank you.”

About Craghoppers

The story behind Craghoppers jackets and apparel began in 1965 when a group of friends from Yorkshire, England started planning a trip to climb Mt. Everest. At the time, options for dependable, high-performance outerwear were pretty scant. Rather than settling for less than adequate gear, the friends decided to create their own, and the Craghoppers clothing company was born. Half a century later, Craghoppers jackets, pants, shorts and shirts are still helping people bag summits and stay comfortable on their adventures all across the globe. With features that range from lightweight, UV-resistant fabrics to Insect Shield® bug repellency, Craghoppers clothing is designed to get outdoors and go places.
