Verified Buyer Reviewed by Troutbum from Lexington, KY on Friday, September 12, 2014I agree with another post, the hooks are extremely small! The hook gap is set more for a trout than for bass. This would have to be swallowed to catch a bass of any real size. Disappointing!
Reviewed by Detroit Fly FIshing Examiner from Michigan on Tuesday, June 24, 2014These flies are great for bass, panfish and carp. I bought a dozen in black (size 8) and junebug (size 10), and I'm very impressed with the tie quality and how they fish, My only complaint (a big one, unfortunately) is that they are tied too large on small hooks.
I've missed numerous strikes because the small hook bumps loose from the fishes' jaw, rather than getting caught. I may bend the hook into a loop that will hold a size 6 wide bend hook. Buy the largest size you can - and enjoy!
Reviewed by YakFisher from Virginia on Wednesday, November 27, 2013I picked up a few of these on my last purchase as they looked intriguing and as usual, the price was great. THe fly is well constructed and did perform well for me on two trips targeting smallmouth and spotted bass on a smaller Virginia river.
The action is interesting due to the extended rubber legs and while I thought it would behave more like a jig it was more of a streamer or clouser but all in all a quality tie and it caught me a few fish.
Reviewed by Jim from Washington State on Monday, October 14, 2013Haven't been able to use these yet, but I thing they will work out good when I do. Four stars only because haven't used them yet, look well built though.
Reviewed by A.C. from Charleston, WV on Tuesday, August 27, 2013Awesome fly...the say they arrived I took em out back back and caught 7 smallies in an hour! Not a bad way to end a work day :)

The sizes indicated are the sizes of the hook. As far as colors go use something that either matches the natural forage or something to draw their attention that is bright. There are to many factors to consider when choosing color but in general dark colors work in stained water and lighter colors work in clearer water.
Other than that just buy a bunch of colors and see what works in your area. The price of these flies is good enough to be able to get a bunch of colors and not break the bank.
