as with most of these socks am customizing the more than snug ankle that is just too constricting for me. The foot fits wonderfully and the alpaca in the yarn feels wonderful.

I haven't used these yet, but they feel very nice. I have a pair I got years ago and since they are my preferred hiking socks and have lasted very nicely, I wanted to get another pair.

These are hands down the BEST technical wool socks I have ever owned. Beats both my Icebreaker and Smartwool socks in terms of fit and durability. I use them when skiing cross country, which I have learned is awfully tough on my socks, I usually wear out one or two pairs of icebreaker/smartwool socks in one season. The season is over here now, I have mostly used these, and they are still looking almost new. Washes well. Hugs the feet and cushions in all the right places. I will get lighter socks for running, for sure.

Icebreaker wins on looks, but these definately win on performance. And the price is better, too. I'm a beleiver.

Note that it's possible that they run slightly big, I am a US size 10-11 and the M fits my long, narrow feet like a glove (or should I say sock?). Could imagine women with size 7 feet would experience some bulk in size M.

About Dahlgren

You’d have a hard time convincing a Dahlgren sock lover to switch to another brand. Not only does Dahlgren use fine natural fibers like alpaca and merino wool (both with great capacity for warmth and moisture control), but designs their socks with strategic comfort zones that make the most of technology built into athletic and outdoor footwear. Dahlgren’s patented Dri-Stride system is a two-step construction method that promotes the absorption and transfer of moisture using natural fibers and Wick Spun acrylic. Other foot-friendly amenities include ventilation panels, inverted toe seams, "cling-free" stitches, and non-binding stretch tops that don’t bunch or sag. Try a pair and see for yourself why active people give Dahlgren socks such rave reviews.
