Comfort deluxeVerified Buyer Reviewed by DocRandy from Utah on Wednesday, September 7, 2016These pants have internal adjustments made of Velcro. Love the fit, weight of material and pockets.... everything about them exudes quality. I only wish I could have found another pair in the Brown color as well. I hope the cone out again next year with this model.
Good shorts...so-so linersReviewed by BikerB from Maryland on Sunday, June 5, 2016I've had a number rides with these shorts, and they seem quite sturdy so far. The shell fabric is tough (good if you're looking for abrasion resistance, bad if you're looking for something lightweight), and it has 2 front pockets along with 2 zippered vents. The rear side has 2 fake pocket flaps which are annoying in that they add bulk for no apparent reason, other than what Dakine apparently thought was a fashion statement. The rise is quite high, at least it seems that way to me, but not so much that the shorts snagged while getting on or off the bike.
The biggest drawback for me for these shorts is the liner. The padding is actually quite good, but the fabric of the liner itself is not like the lightweight mesh liners found in PI or Fox shorts I've seen and used. Rather, it's a pretty dense fabric that doesn't breathe very well. These shorts will be left for days where the temps are under about 75; any hotter or more humid and the shorts have started to get clammy, definitely clammier that the other shorts that I have with more mesh-like liners. Otherwise, good shorts.
