So light and comfortable

These pants were amazing. I was worried they would be noisy like windpants, but they weren’t. They also wash up to be softer than when you receive them. My son was so comfortable in these.

  • great hot weather pants
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Fred from Indiana on Friday, May 18, 2018
These Grizzly Nylon pants are somewhere between 3 and 4 stars, although I gave them 4 because they were really inexpensive on clearance. Yes, they are baggy, which makes them really comfortable. I like the super lightweight nylon fabric. It dries rapidly and is quite cool in the summer heat. The zip off legs are practical. The colors are decent.

On the negative side, I prefer buttons to the velcro closures on pockets. The two zippered pockets are too small. The xl will be too small for a guy with a 40 waist. I'm a 38 and they fit perfectly.

It looks awesome. And really fit me in good shape
  • Droopy when dry, See-through when wet
Verified Buyer Reviewed by KittyMom from Chesapeake Beach, MD on Saturday, April 28, 2018
I've bought Dakota Grizzly products in the past, but these had to have been the strangest material choice. The fabric is thin, drapey & droopy. It has no shape or body. Plus, it's sheer enough that if it gets wet (precip, fording, sweat) it looks & clings like plastic wrap. Definitely not sturdy hiking material.
  • Bad Fit
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Judy from Michigan on Wednesday, April 18, 2018
These hiking pants are disproportioned. The waist was 34 as ordered but the hips measured 48 inches which is huge. The quality appeared to be good but the fit was terrible.

  • “What is the inseam length of the 'Regular'? How about the 'Long'? Why would anyone list a pair of pants without providing the inseam length???”
Asked by John from CA on 6/11/2018 1:15:49 PM
    • This information is available under the product specs tab. Inseam: Regular 31" (based on size large)

  • “What is the weight in ounces for a pare of these? If you have small, medium, or large and have weighed them on a scale I would really appreciate your feedback! Thank you!”
Asked by Justin from Pennsylvania on 3/15/2018 11:49:51 AM
    • 0.8 pounds but that could be off a bit as scale not designed to measure this small of weight. These are not pants I would hike in the winter, a bit too thin. Hope that helps. I do like them, though and have worn them several times already.
You could remove the pockets and save some weight there! :-) Size M

  • “I'm looking for pants that would not be too heavy for warm weather, but still block out cold in colder weather. How wind-proof are these pants and how well do they block out cold?”
Asked by Toby from Iowa on 3/12/2018 11:04:26 AM
    • These are what you want. I have the lighter colors for warmer weather.
These dry quickly. Block out cold.

    • Yes!
Answered on 12/16/2017 6:09:05 AM by Grey wolf from California
    • I think that would be more like the 2x. I'd never want pants like these to be anywhere close to snug. I'm a 37-38 waist and I got the XLs.
Answered on 12/16/2017 6:12:39 AM by LikesGoodThingsThatWork from Arizona
    • Don't know about the length (the "30"), but the web site says the waist measurement for XL is 38-40" and 2X is 41-43." So, looks like a 40 would be an XL. You wouldn't want the "Long" length and might have to hem the Regular some. I did.

About Dakota Grizzly

Though the brand has been in business for about a decade, the foundation of Dakota Grizzly clothing dates back to a time when America was a more rugged place to live. Dakota Grizzly knows that time-tested fabrics like flannel and denim are a great value because you can wear them for years to come. Great for camping and outdoor recreation, flannel shirts, hoodies, jackets and jeans are made from long-lasting materials for maximum durability, warmth and comfort. Many Dakota Grizzly pants feature a convertible design for added versatility and Dakota Grizzly shirts are crafted for people who live life outdoors, embrace a hard-working aesthetic and make statements with their work rather than their clothing.
