That said, the shoes will be perfect with socks. The color was a bit lighter than the picture shows, probably a light grey-ish taupe, "stone" describes it well if you think of a light colored river rock.

The footbed is removable and accomodates my orthotics, a necessity. The color is very usable; goes with anything.

Loved the style and was happy with the nonslip sole on the shoe but it was too tight on the forefoot/ instep area that became more apparent when I kept them on for awhile. Good cushioning from the insole insert. Sadly I had to return the shoes, maybe a larger size might have worked better,

I am used to Dansko shoes being comfortable, but you can walk all day in these. I bought Distressed Stone and the "distressed" aspect of the leather makes them very casual. I wear jeans & tees to work, so that is fine. If you need to dress up more, these will be confined to your weekend wardrobe. Felt true to size, maybe a tad bit bigger....wouldn't go as far to say that they are half a size bigger. These would be great shoes for flying, since feet swell a bit during long flights.
