seems greatVerified Buyer Reviewed by Angela n from Easter Washington on Tuesday, June 5, 2018This seems like a great pack. Nice to be able to customize the length--I am 5'8" and seem to need the longest setting, but I'm long-waisted.
I ordered two packs to test and so far like the other slightly better. Both seem extremely nice, lightweight, and comfortable, but the other seems to match the curve of my back slightly better. I prefer the color of this one, but that of course isn't the most important thing. And this one could use better hip pockets, there's one but it's pretty small.
I still need to order a sleeping bag and tent and test them both fully loaded. I like the stretchy front pocket on this one, and the sleeping bag compartment might be nice to have to keep things separate--it seems very roomy. Maybe you could use it for both sleeping bag and clothes. This pack is a little taller so technically would not work as well for international travel, though people say they do it.
Great packVerified Buyer Reviewed by Heyitsjinelle from New Mexico on Thursday, May 31, 2018I was sad to return this it was just a little too small for 2 overnights. If you have primo gear and can be super simple it would work. Great price
My first backpackVerified Buyer Reviewed by Hiking grandma from Colorado on Wednesday, May 9, 2018This is the first backpack I have ever purchased. I had been borrowing backpacks and they did not fit me very good it made for a very uncomfortable hike. I am a fairly tall woman 5'8". this is so adjustable and has so many convenient features it fits my long torso perfectly.
Solid constructionVerified Buyer Reviewed by Beth from Texas on Monday, April 2, 2018Haven't taken it out on a hike yet, but this pack is well made. Simple to adjust the sizing. Fit feels great.
Awesome Backpack!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Lucinda from Colorado on Thursday, March 8, 2018It's exactly what I wanted and need for a month long trek to Central America!
Great pack, great priceVerified Buyer Reviewed by tapmonster from Lenexa, Kansas on Saturday, May 23, 2015We purchased this pack for my wife. She had tried it on in a store while we were traveling and liked it. Happened to see it on sale at STP for almost half the store price. Done!
Nice PackVerified Buyer Reviewed by KS from Washington on Tuesday, January 27, 2015Fits so amazingly well - it adjusted to fit her back like a glove, errr a back glove, errr or how an awesome pack should fit.
Sierra's price was great, shipping was fast - no issues here, just a satisfied customer.
I'm in love.Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anna from New Orleans, LA on Tuesday, January 20, 2015This pack is PERFECT for me. It hasn't seen its first hiking trip yet, but just survived 10 days of international travel in Nicaragua, no sweat. No pack can be perfect for everyone, but here are the things that make it great for me:
- I have a super curved lower back. The air flow design means the pack actually touches my lower back, providing great support.
- Green color is fabulous, and just as pictured.
- I'm a neurotic packer, lots of pockets let me sort and organize.
- Hip pocket is great for a small coin purse, chapstick, etc.
- All kinds of adjustable straps to fit just to my body.
- Inside pocket under the lid for important papers, passport, etc.
- BONUS: I got to use it as a carry-on.
- Someone else has to hand you your water bottle.
I'm 5'4, about 145lbs, have occasional lower back problems, and not the most upper body strength on earth. Loved this pack. Highly recommend.

Deuter ACT LITEVerified Buyer Reviewed by Michael Max from Klamath Mountains on Monday, December 29, 2014Just got it, have not used it in the backcountry yet but it is well made, light weight, functional design, good harness, straps. Some of the buckles are a little less durable seeming, but time will tell. For the price at Sierra Trading Post (including discounts) it was a great bargain.

“Does this pack have access to the main compartment from the front or side of the pack? I am looking for a zipper, but I do not see one.”
I just got mine and it has a front compartment that can be closed off for a sleeping bag. Behind the compartment is a zipper that lets you access the contents of the main compartment. It's got all kinds of cool ways you can expand the pack or compress it if you don't need the room. I love it!
“What do they mean by 45 plus 10? Where do the extra 10L come from? I don't see a removeable daypack or waistpack...”
Extendable lid allows you to expand the collar, adding up to 600 cu. in. (10 liters) of storage space.
“I’m pretty thin and narrow. The distance betweem my shoulders end-to-end is about 15 inches and I’m concerned the shoulder straps might be too wide for me. They are probably not adjustable, but if they are, what’s the max and min distance between the straps if they can be pulled in?”
The sternum strap in the front is really the only way to adjust the width of the straps.
“Do you plan to have this pack back in stock soon?”
