First use was in a snowy icy day up on the mountain and aside from a thin layer of ice forming on the outer lens (turned to whiteout conditions)they worked great. Next use on a beautiful sunny day and again they worked great.

A little colorful for my liking but my wife says it makes me easier to pick out of the crowds.

My 7 year old son loves these goggles! They are a little big for his face, but, I'd rather they be big for more protection than small.

  • “What color are the lenses? I am having trouble figuring out color on your all of your goggles. Do they have a mirrored outer surface?”
Asked by Shelby from Flagstaff, AZ on 1/20/2010 12:00:00 AM
    • The colors to choose from are gold or grey in this pair of goggles. They are not mirrored.
Answered on 2/7/2010 12:00:00 AM by Customer Care from Sierra Trading Post
    • They are mirrored and darkly tinted. They will be very nice on a bright sunny day. I would not recommend them for cloudy days or early season days when the sun is low in the sky. For a lighter lens try the Smith Sensor.

  • “What type\color of lense do these goggles have? Most of my skiing is during the day.”
Asked by Mike from Maryland on 1/16/2010 12:00:00 AM
    • Two of the models have the Gold Ionized lens color - which is best described as an amber color. This lens has 20%-25% light transmission (Tweed/Gold Ionized and Shocking/Gold Ionized). The third version (Recluse W/Ionized) is a light gray/almost clear lens. This would be best for low light conditions - stormy, night skiing, etc. I would go for either that have the Gold Ionized lens. They should be a good fit for what you do.
