Reviewed by DDartman from Wilmington, OH on Tuesday, July 22, 2014I ordered a 6.5' rod, planning to use 6# test on it based on the specs given in the description. While the rod I got is nice, it is not as described. The 6.5 is a MEDIUM action rod with a recommended line weight of 8-12#. In my opinion, it's too stiff to be used with anything lighter than 8# line. On a positive note, I really like that it has a ruler printed on the rod itself. If I remember correctly, it goes up to something like 16" (sorry, I don't have the rod beside me at this time). I've always liked Eagle Claw rods to creek/wade fishing and the ruler is a nice added touch. Just wish Sierra could get their descriptions correct. Oh well, I'll probably still keep this one and buy a larger real for future use since it's not worth wasting time/money returning it.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by snosbig from NuJoizee on Wednesday, June 11, 2014I got a good deal. This is my 2nd EC pole with my 1st being very similar but a 4-piece for backpacking. That pole is over 30 years old & will be replaced by this one which I hope will last as long. This 1 is VERY light with good action & will be good for standard Bass fishing etc. The connectors, eyes & reel attachments are all of decent quality.
