This larger capacity spinner is just what I needed for travel on a ship that is going to some of the islands above the arctic circle. I'll be able to put my walking poles (collapsed, of course) into the case with ease. The light weight and four wheels makes movement with this case fairly easy. I would have given it 5 stars ifit had an outside pocket.

In truth, I no longer have the 28" since trading it in for the 30". Be aware that the wheels are included in the measured length of the bag so you must take 3" off the overall length of the box. I'm a photographer and I needed the extra length to fit a tripod inside. That's the story of why I own this bag. I wanted the hard sides to add protection to my gear on international travel though the sides still flex even with the ribbed design. The 30" is probably too big for most trips but seems lightweight and manageable. The hinges and general construction seem really good. The wheels roll freely and this size bag enables me to push it through airports with my hand resting comfortably on top of the bag. Why four stars instead of five? Well, the bag seems to do everything it's designed to do but this style of bag has an advantage and disadvantage. The advantage is that the contents are not all piled into one cavity since it opens into two halves. The disadvantage is that it does open into to large halves and in some of the European hotels rooms I've encountered that means you will have to lift the bag onto the bed to open it since the luggage racks are so small. I'm also concerned that if dropped on one corner the bag will flex open. It hasn't happened, just a fear. I'm pleased to have the bag for my purposes and it seems to live up to the Eagle Creek standard of quality.
