Just what I wanted

I have a brown pair of Earth mary janes that are practically indestructible. They are, being "Earth" shoes, kinda clunky; but you wouldn't believe how many compliments I've received on those. I wanted black, too, and saw these. So pleased that they fit! The difference in these is, besides minor style changes, a much narrower strap. You really wonder if such a little strap can handle such a "big" shoe. But it seems okay on my foot. The finish is shinier than the one my brown ones have, so there's a slightly dressier look, and there is this little slit in the front which I did not see in the photo. I'm guessing it is for comfort, in case a solid shoe like this should dig into a tender foot when it bends while walking. (I never had that problem with the others, but they might be considered a little stiff by some wearers.) They look best with wider-leg or stovepipe pants, and perhaps certain skirts on some people. My experience with my previous pair is that my feet have never, ever been tired after a whole day of standing or walking in them, once I got used to the "negative heel techonology", which took about half and hour. Worth every cent, if they are like my old ones!
