Hard as a rock

The boot is well made. The fit is ok though not very cushioned. The removable insole is very, very thin and thus has almost zero cushioning or support. While the boot's forefoot grooves do make it nicely flexible in the forefoot the boot feels very hard. I have walked maybe 5 miles in these boots so perhaps they will break in. I have switched out the cheap insole for a better one I had. I bought these as all purpose (i.e. hiking and going to work) boot much like my preferred brand of Lowa, but they really only are for hiking and then there are much better options at a similar price point. I got these with a good STP discount otherwise not worth the money. If you are looking to walk a lot look elsewhere.
