3.0 out of 5 stars. Amazing comfort, so-so sole durabilityReviewed by Anonymous from Tulsa on Sunday, January 5, 2014I am on my 3rd pair of Track II's, and I love their comfort. I wore my previous pair, the boot version, on an 8 mile hike the day after I bought them and was the only one in my party that didn't have blisters. I like the way the old black versions look; the newer brownish ones less so but they are OK. A lot of people don't like the looks. The downside for me is that the sole on my third pair has worn down much faster than on previous pairs. The lugs are filled with a foam and now that the outer rubber has worn off, that is exposed. I don't expect them to last much longer now that the inner material has gotten wet and worn. I am looking for new shoes now and would sadly say that I am more likely top look for a new option rather than replace these.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Now discontinued, replaced by Track 6Reviewed by Gary in NYC from New York, NY on Sunday, September 23, 2012This is the second time I've bought the Tracker II. The first time was 13 years ago and while the shoes were initially great, they wore out prematurely due to the sole disintegrating (the rest of the shoe was fine). According to ECCO, this sole disintegration problem was rectified with a later release.
Contrary to what a few others have said, I've found the Tracker II to look and feel pretty much as the original. The sole does seem better and the color is more gray than light beige, so the formulation is different. Will the sole hold up over time? Only time will tell, but the good thing is that ECCO stands by their products.
I really like this classic design and it's great that ECCO has been making it for 15 years now, except that they've announced it has been discontinued. The replacement is the Track 6 which looks similar, but with some notable differences (particularly with the sole design).
Overall, the fit is good with this style, but I must point out that the toe box is a bit on the small side and doesn't leave a lot of "wiggle room." This will probably loosen up a little after breaking them in, or, it might be worthwhile to pre-stretch them at a shoe repair place. Rather than returning them, I plan to have them stretched a little because my right foot is just a little larger than the left.
The leather quality is very good but not what I'd call "rugged". Scrapes from sharp and rough surfaces will show up rather easily. But if you don't care how shabby they'll get, then they'll do. I'd consider this more of a lightweight hiker shoe, meant for strolls on defined paths. It also serves well as a casual "all around" shoe too. For serious hiking, I'd go with a bit more aggressive design that will take abuse without showing it better.- Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking
- Cons: Narrow toe box
- Describe Yourself: Conservative, Stylish
- Pros: Classic Design, Comfortable, Durable, Good Cushioning, Lightweight
- Sizing: Feels true to size
- Width: Feels true to width

5.0 out of 5 stars. ECCO tried and trueVerified Buyer Reviewed by Mason from Oregon on Tuesday, August 28, 2012I bought two pair of the shoes at the same time about 10 years ago. I am a physical therapist and on my feet for a good amount of the day. Just now, I'm needing to replace the "brown" pair as the soles are worn. The uppers are in great shape and I would not be replacing if it weren't for the soles. Great shoe for work, not so great for style, but comfort and durability win over style.
