    I've tried the dryer balls with various materials (towels, cotton shirts, denim, etc.) and everything comes out even softer than using dryer sheets. I'm not sure if the drying time is reduced, though. My only con is that the balls make noise bouncing around in the dryer, but this is to be expected since they are very dense.

    On the few loads I've tried these on, they are doing the trick. My clothes are soft and static free.
