  • “Is the "Flint" made of Ferrocerium? Typically natural flint is not used and an alloy is used instead. Ferroecerium is the alloy that the U.S. Military uses. It has a Mil-Spec, however I understand this is not being sold as a mil-spec item.”

    • The package calls it flint, but it looks like a ferrocerium rod. Ferrocerium is used in most fire starting tools, welding strikers, cigarette lighter flints, and survival kits. According to the vendor it is not made of a ferro metal.

    • I Know it "Looks Like Ferrocerium"... But I asked if it is. I have had some shipped to me that have a thin rod of FeCe milled into the side of a larger rod of Magnesium. I just want to KNOW!
