• I find my hammock stretches much more than the straps. In any case, to prevent "waking up with my butt on the ground," or any back issues, I set it up early, lay in it and relax, then re tighten before settling in for the night. After the initial stretch ( that happens in every use ), it stays pretty taught through the night. Hope this helps!
