  • 1.0 out of 5 stars. Bad Valve, Bad Valve Seat, Hard Ground
Verified Buyer Reviewed by MesaGuy from Costa Mesa, CA on Wednesday, July 24, 2019
This pad came with two separate and glaring defects. First plastic valve seat is attached to the bag canvas with glue (which is fine), but this bag was not glued properly, and there was literally no glue in three separate places on the seat, each a giant leak, so bad the bag could not be inflated the first place. Second, the pad also came with a bad brass valve twist closure valve. These press into the plastic valve seat, but the valve in this pad did not close. (Not a matter of twisting it enough.) Removal of the valve showed that it either lack a clean brass-to-brass closing surface, or it was entirely lacking the internal rubber oring that the two pieces of brass close on when twisted shut to close off the valve. Bottom line, the valve did not hold air, so neither did the pad. Both canvas to plastic seat gluing, and the brass valve defect were so severe that this pad/bag never ever held air. And that would have been obvious if this bag got even a cursory test in the factory. Pads are usually tested before valve insertion, and then again after. This pad could not have even passed the pre-valve test (because of the glue job), and it could not pass a post-valve test because of the bad valve. Totally ripped off by Eureka! and / or Sierra Trading Post. Either Eureka! sells bad products to retailers, or else STP sold a BAD, BAD, BAD second as a new 1st run bag. Either way, I am out $40 and got the privilege of sleeping on the ground and cutting short a trip thanks to this inferior product caused by bad testing from Eureka!, e.g. Johnson Camping gear. I am sad to say I will never be buying another Eureka! anything ever again. Companies that have no quality control do not have any control on anything they make, and clearly Eureka! thinks their end customers should be the quality control department for them. Sierra let me down by stocking such an inferior product and selling it to me.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Perfect for small room, deck

This is perfect for a small room, or outside on the deck, i bought this in the event the powere goes out and it will serve dual purpose as a standard flashlight, or lantern. It’s well made and easy to use, and small enough to store well.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. tiny but powerful

When we first got it, we kinda laughed, thinking that isn't going to do much. But then my husband got to playing around with it and realized that with it's little lever on the side, you can change the light from being in the 'dome' part of the lantern, to being in the middle and reflecting off of the pyramid thing in the middle of the lantern, giving out a lot more light than expected. He wants to buy more of them!!! Great little lantern for the price!!!
