This is my second pair of these gloves, which I love. They do fit very tightly at first, but stretch out to a certain degree. Not for plump-fingered folks. They are made of fine *glove* leather and are not intended for work, just keeping warm while walking/running or driving (excellent for this),... Read More

  • “Are these waterproof?”
Asked by Sara Lansky from New York on 6/19/2015 12:30:40 PM
    • No. I use them as dress gloves and don't have a reason to get them wet except when brushing snow off the car. I've never soaked them through, but the leather does get wet.

    • No they're not

    • No. They are for daily use, not for skiing or even shoveling - but I LOVE them!
Answered on 6/19/2015 8:40:56 PM by Judi V from PA
    • I think they are as waterproof as any leather garment. Not as waterproof as a rubber or plastic, however.
Answered on 6/19/2015 9:53:13 PM by Road Walker from Marin County, CA
    • I only wore them a short time before the weather changed. They are beautiful gloves, but waterproof, I think not.

    • I bought these for next winter so haven't used them beyond trying them on. Leather is generally not waterproof but can be water proofed or made more water resistant with saddle soap etc.
Answered on 6/20/2015 11:58:02 AM by mermaid 27 from Cape Cod
    • These are a pair of refined leather gloves suitable for more dressy or everyday 'city' use. I don't think these are appropriate for strenuous activity such as winter sports. Therefore, I would not classify these as waterproof gloves unless you treat them with a quality leather waterproof product.
Answered on 6/20/2015 10:55:30 PM by Ronald from Baltimore
    • I don't know if they've been waterproofed but I treated them as if they had not. I haven't worn them in the rain, but I did wear them in the snow and they repelled the moisture from the flakes with no discoloration. If you need them to be really waterproof, I think you'd need to treat them with a waterproofing solution.

  • “Hi, I planned to order two pairs of these gloves. Now that I have the money in my account to do so, the closed out price of the leather gloves went up about $9.00 in price. I've eyed these gloves for about a month, but had to wait until now to make the purchase. I can only order one pair at this time. But, do you normally hike up the price after it's lowered as a close out? This is hurting my feelings.|Janice”
Asked by Jan from US: Bronx NY on 12/7/2011 12:00:00 AM
    • We do not usually hike up our prices once the have lowered, I am not sure what could have happen. Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • “My hand measures exactly at 7". Should I get the medium size?”
Asked by Angie from Seneca, SC on 11/22/2011 12:00:00 AM
    • If you hover over the " Sizes Available" a tap will appear and provide you with the correct numeric sizing. In you case you would order a S (Girth 7 IN-7½ IN)

    • They seem to run a bit small and with a too snug fit may give out at the stress points. They're great gloves so I recommend buying one at reg size and one at one size up and one pair back.

    • My hands are size 7. I bought size small. They fit well.

    • I'd say get the larger size. See my comment if you want more sizing input.

  • “Two questions:|1) Is the purple a lighter lavender color or a true purple? Is it more blue-hued, or red/pink-hued? ||2) How well do the gloves repel water? Do they have a water-resistant finish? If not, has anyone treated the leather with a water resistant spray or leather cream?||Thank you!”
Asked by clars from Portland, OR on 11/18/2011 12:00:00 AM
    • In my opinion the purple is a lighter lavender. There is no waterproofing finish on the Excelled Lambskin Leather Gloves to speak of.

  • “My "girth" is 6.5 - I have small hands (ring size is 4.25-4.5). According to the "Excelled" pop-up I should order a Small, according to Sierra's "sizing" tab, I should order a Medium. I'd prefer them on the snug side to too big, but not if they're unwearable. I'm still not quite sure what folks mean when they say they run small, you know? :)||What do you suggest?||Thanks!”
Asked by Em in PA from Phila, PA on 11/1/2011 12:00:00 AM
    • I would definitely get the medium. I also have narrow fingers and measured 7--the medium was too big, small was perfect.
