My 4th Dryflylite Shirt

I love this shirt. It protects me from the sun and keeps me cool. It's great for travel. It's very light and dries quickly. A medium fits me well. I can wear the shirt either tucked into pants or out and both ways look good. I'm about 5' 3'' tall and weigh about 125 pounds.

  • Great shirt, Runs small

    Great sun protection hiking shirt.
S-M-L sizing means only a few people will get great fit, but this "small" is small on me (5.5/120) The back yoke seam is high and narrow at the shoulders and that makes the sleeves pull at the elbows, even though the cuffs still fall below the wrist.

Bought it last summer but burned a hole in the sleeve camping. So happy to find another one online after looking everywhere in the stores so I bought two. Fits well and I love the cut. Like the flat zip front pockets that are easy to iron and don't stick out the way some button down ones do. In town or in the woods, it looks great.

Loved the fabric and the fit. The color, however, was ugly on me. I returned it.

  • Nice shirt for hiking

Shirt is a nice lightweight material but nothing special. I have another similar style I purchased at REI that is much softer material. I have worn it twice for hikes and it did a great job keeping me protected from the sun and it dries very fast. My biggest gripe is what some others have said, it does run small. I am 5'5 and 130# and wear a small or medium so ordered the M based on reviews. I am smaller through the chest and waist but the M is still snugger than I would like. I am keeping it because I don't feel like returning it, but I would definitely prefer it a bit looser because it feels a bit constricting across the chest & shoulders and the sleeves are just barely long enough. In cooler weather I like to use these shirts as my outer layer but won't have enough room in this one to layer which is a bummer. Overall nice shirt but runs skimpy.

  • “Does this shirt have vents?”
Asked by Jean the hiker from Colorado on 5/19/2015 9:53:21 PM
    • Yes in the upper back but the venting isn't "open"- there's a sewn area affixed in the middle of the shoulders, so the venting isn't completely open.

  • “Does this shirt run true to size? The small is listed as a 4-6, which is smaller than typical. I had another ex-officio hiking shirt that was huge. I had to give it away.”
Asked by Bostonhiker from Boston on 8/20/2014 1:38:23 PM
    • The white ExOfficio shirt I purchased is true to size. I wear a size 14-16 t shirt, depending on the maker of the shirt. I am short waisted and usually a size 14 will do but I have noticed that t shirts or blouses will be tight around the bust area. I wear a size 38 bra, I am 5'4" and 175 lbs if that helps. At any rate, I also do not like form fitting clothes especially in blouses I use for travel and don't like having to wear safety pins around the buttons. This shirt fit nicely around the arms, waist, with plenty of room in the chest and hip area. I have worn it many times and have not had any problems with the buttons coming undone.

    • I have a LARGE and it fits me perfectly. As far as I'm concerned, it runs true to size. I always wear size large in shirts (12-14). I love it and may buy one or two more in different colors.

  • “On size XL, what is the measurement of the upper arm at arm pit level??? I often find shirts are too tight here.”
Asked by Laura from Arizona on 6/30/2014 3:48:52 PM
    • I don't know the measurements but there is ample room. These are rather loose fitting shirts.

    • Hello, L Squared! Sorry for the delay but I got my house back. I measured 23 inches around the armpit. The shoulder and sleeves are much bigger as the sleeves puff up a bit but not too much -- the sleeves still iron flat. Hope this helps!
