Exped SynCell Mat Review

I've had a few air mattresses ($80-$120 each) and still do. This is the most unique of them all. The other mattresses are comfortable but are kind of like sleeping on a pool floaty (if they only had a beverage holder). When I first rolled the Exped SynCellMat out I though it wasn't going to be comfortable. It just didn't seem as substantial as the other mats. Oh was I wrong. The whole...molds to your body and smooths out the ground thing…well its NOT a marketing gimmick. I guess its the difference between laying on top of a mattress and being cradled by the mattress. The SynCell is a cradler.

I'm a stalky guy (5'7" and 190lbs) and a side sleeper. No problem for the SynCell 5.

When backpacking it comes in a very small bag and weights very little. If you say ultralight every other word then this mat may not be for you. But for me this thing weights very little. I like to be comfortable while sleeping and this mat does that for me at a very low weight cost.

What an awesome mat! I love it. What more can I say?
