Verified Buyer Reviewed by Dan the Fisherman from WA on Monday, September 12, 2016I used this tent on a recent fishing expedition. A bit heavy for backpacking, but worth the effort! Easy setup, roomy, waterproof, windproof. I would recommend this product to others.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Troop20Quartermaster from Illinois on Thursday, September 8, 2016Ferrino is a hidden gem. Great design, thousands of man-hours of engineering, directions that even someone dizzy at high altitude can understand. Don't know about the quality of Italian cars, but this tent is indeed bombproof. Set up took thirty minutes in my front yard 1st time, 15 minutes second time, less than 10 at the campsite in the middle of a driving rainstorm and the way the rainfly is attached to the shelter module itself, bone dry inside. They classify it as a mountaineer's tent, but for a strong man or woman it is light enough for backpacking for the weather protection it offers. Will be taking it to Philmont.
Reviewed by Gay Viking from Colorado on Tuesday, September 6, 2016I loved this tent when I first bought it. The material looks and feels durable. The dual vestibule/entrances were awesome for camping in the rain. We had firewood on one side and our packs on the other. It comfortably fit 3. However, in the wind this tent is not great. I was very disappointed that it didn't maintain structural integrity during a windstorm. One of the 3 poles bent and the fly ripped in the wind. Also, when it did start raining I went to close the vestibule and the zipper got caught in the zipper rain guard and tore the fabric. This tent is great if all you need is protection from the rain and cold. Not so great in windier conditions.
Reviewed by Connie from Western North Carolina on Sunday, August 7, 2016Got this tent for camping near the auto. Too heavy for a solo hiker. This is like camping in a 5 star hotel with the addition of an air mattress. It was little confusing the first time I set it up, but after I got it set up and understood that you must make sure the pole are put it the right way it was actually simple with only 3 poles. The next set up will be easy. It rain all day and all night really hard. But me and my 2 dogs stayed dry and cozy. The 2 vestibules allowed air flow and room to store supplies I didn't want in the tent and they stayed dry too. If there was another person staying in the tent it would be great that both individuals would have an exit without bothering the tent mate. In conclusion, when I had to take the tent down it was no problem getting it store back in the carrying bag.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Martina from Montana on Wednesday, July 27, 2016I absolutely beautiful tent with lots of room and two fantastic vestibules that stay super dry. Its like gaving two extra rooms. I am currently using it in the summer on the north American prairie in Montana and it is great, keeps you warm in the night and cool in the morning when the sun would bake me in my last tent.
Easy to put up once you figure out the poles, they enter on one side only. This is the only very minor issue as if you need to dismantle the tent in a hurry it can be a little stubborn. But I am sure it is just a technique I will get use to. Unbelievable happy I bought this tent. It feels like I am staying in a hotel. I would highly recommend it.

“Would this tent be overkill for 3-season (not extreme winter) solo or couple camping that could be either campground or backpacking (too heavy?)? Usually out West (MT, WY, ID, UT, etc.).
Would you also still need a tarp or is the floor of this thing pretty durable and waterproof? Thanks much!!”
Personally this would be too heavy for me on a backpacking trip, (Packed weight: 10 lb. 12.8 oz.) If you were at a drive up campground it would probably work just fine.
It is 4 season, so whether it is overkill for 3 season is more of a personal preference.
