Verified Buyer Reviewed by Supernova02 from Bellingham WA on Saturday, May 20, 2017I searched long and hard for a good hiking shoe for my 8 year old son. They were either too pricey or didn't fit right (he has wide feet). We found these originally at a local sporting store last summer as we prepped for his trip to Yosemite. They were perfect and he loved wearing them! As he is starting to outgrow the current pair, we didn't want to go on the hunt for another hiker again so I purchased a larger size for when he grows out of his current from STP. Love the pricing, great value! These shoes do not break down fast like many other kid shoes. The tread is aggressive which is great for PNW trail hiking or anywhere else. Great shoe for kids with wide feet or have a hard time wearing a typical runner because they are often narrow.
Reviewed by Momof3ontherun from Illinois on Sunday, February 12, 2017Purchased these shoes for my 3 kids for use during day hikes in varying terrain. All 3 kids have been very happy with them and have encountered no issues navigating dirt trails, rocks, sand, snow, etc. A bargain compared to most alternatives. The only downside is no ankle support but we are not doing any super-aggressive terrain at this point so it's fine. We've only used for fall/winter so far but they seem to be breathable enough for year-round use.
