5.0 out of 5 stars. No women's Filson left.... (I'll rarely look at men's for me)

First, from what I've seen, the men's Filsons are far more practical: though the women's "stylish" Filsons are more practical than non-Filsons. (Some on the important "men's" functional features haven't made it to their women's line ...yet.)

When there were Filson W's here a few months ago, I bought two: in two sizes: one in each color - with plan to keep the one that fit best -- and, if I loved it, to order the other (knowing the size). Alas, by the time they arrived, my color/size options were gone.

I'd expected to be Medium or Large. I kept the, though a small would have been better. When it was time to give up on a women's Khaki S (or M or XS), I inquired about sizes and was directed to Men's XS (with a "maybe"). The XS fit well enough, but the color wouldn't do. To my surprise. Shirt came back in a similarly light-neutral color: again: Only one and XS. I love this color (pale grey).

Each of the shirts (Men XS & Women MED -or Small, if u could get it) fit differently - but both are excellent.

Though I'd rarely look at men's shirts for me (and even less so: men's pants). if XS men's Filson shirts (that I really like) became available at STP (with no women's Filson shirts), I'd seriously look at it again.

I even considered men's XS jackets etc, but there was nothing in the styles I'd like.

Laundering is a pleasure. For the first few washes, I "babied" them - and washed at least three times before wearing, too get them softer.

I expect you get much service from both the pale grey and the black, and I'll keep my eye out for both men's and women's Filson.

Of course, the quality is "as expexted" for Filson - with even more quality features (double-fabric elbows) on men's shirts.

If you have a chance to get one at STP prices, and the color/style goes with your life-work-travel-whatever needs, is to good to pass up (especially at clearance prices).

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Terrific shirt 5*

This is a five-star shirt: the material and construction are typical of the Filson hallmarks, and the fit is great, if not slightly roomier than expected. I'm 6ft and 190lbs and the size Medium definitely has room for a few Thanksgiving dinners :)

About Filson

C.C. Filson began outfitting the Klondike Gold Rush stampeders over 100 years ago. He knew his clothing had to withstand the bitter cold and harsh conditions of the Klondike, and the survival of his customers depended on gear that would keep them alive in the frigid North. While the Gold Rush may be ancient history, C.C. Filson outdoor clothing is still going strong… maintaining the firm's reputation for honesty, legendary quality and durability. Every C.C. Filson garment is robust, rugged and manufactured from the finest materials available, so its wearer can withstand the rigors of the great outdoors. As the folks at Filson say, "might as well have the best."
