  • Filson Quality!

The Filson Northwest Wool Shirt is a quality product straight out of the box. The STP price makes it an exceptional purchase which will last a lifetime. Sadly we returned it simply because the arm length was not enough to suit my husband who usually wears a medium tall.

This Filson shirt is top quality, made beautifully, my husband will be reaching for this shirt again & again. It can almost be worn as an over jacket too.

You probably won't like this shirt, especially size medium. Don't bother buying any (in that size anyway).

Great shirt, I own a couple of these. I wear a 44 and I'm 6"3 215lbs and ordered the xl, it fits great, slightly on the large side.

These are very nice shirts and a good buy at STP prices. However, there are subtle differences between the plaid and solid shirts that are not covered in the description. I have both styles. The plaid pattern is 85% wool, 15% nylon, slightly more casual, is not worsted, and has a rougher, wooly feel. It also runs a little smaller. I’m a size 42, and a large fits well. The solid pattern is really nice: 100% worsted wool in a fine, heavy twill that is a little less casual and should be very durable. It runs larger, and a medium fits me well. To my knowledge, these are best wool shirts on the market today. Hope this helps.

Question & Answer

  • “Hello - I wanted to verify the fabric composition on these shirts. Are they, in fact, 85% wool and 15% nylon as indicated in the specs tab? I ask as the Filson site shows the current Northwest shirts as being 100% wool. That said, I realized that this may be an older style and the fabric content may be different as well.

    Thanks,”

    • These are an older closeout model.
