These are awesome skis for narrow trails and/or high maneuverability. It is great that they are reinforced. Even though they are short they feel like a full-length ski. The only con is the white petex base oxidizes easily.

  • “Do you have any 171 lengths available?”
Asked by Slocs from Australia on 7/10/2011 12:00:00 AM
    • Due to the nature of the closeout business, we often receive items in limited quantities. Therefore, popular sizes and colors can sell out quickly. Occasionally we are able to reorder a product, but closeout items are typically unable to be reordered.|Unfortunately we are currently out of that size, but we suggest signing up for the My Updates as the best way to monitor incoming products. You will receive email notifications of our newest stock items. You can also access the "New Items" section of our website at anytime. New Items are all products that have arrived within the last 21 days. ||

  • “are thes mean to skate ski with? if not do you have any kids skate ski products?”
Asked by lp ski from Lake Placid, NY on 2/16/2011 12:00:00 AM
    • These are not skate skis. There are currently not any skate skis for kids in stock currently.
Answered on 2/17/2011 12:00:00 AM by Customer Care from Sierra Trading Post
    • The previous answer is WRONG. This ski is a youth skate ski meant for freestyle ( ie Skate) skiing. It has turned up tips AND tails, so is NOT designed to be a competitive skate ski. It is meant for a freestyle fun ski that will allow for jumps with "switch" (backwards) landings and skating both forwards and backwards. I would recommend this ski for any skier weighing between 80 to 110 pounds - they will have a blast.|Like any skate ski - it should be waxed full length with the appropriate glide wax for best performance - and kept well waxed throughout the season (at least every 25 to 50 KM of use.)

About Fischer

Austria-based Fischer Skis has come a long way since their first pair of wooden skis came out of the production shed in 1924. Today, Fischer Skis travel in all the best circles – namely, winner's circles. Fischer's pioneering spirit has always pushed the limits of technological innovation. Employing a similar technique to that used in high quality musical instruments, Fischer Skis are Frequency Tuned to harmonize vibrations and improve turn behavior. Fischer boots orient the components to the anatomical shape of the foot, supporting the natural foot position. All Fischer gear is designed for the performance and comfort of the skier. So if you're going for gold or just a great day in the powder, go with Fischer.
