These skis are very fast and fun on groomed snow. They skate well for a classic ski. I love that I can skate on flats or downhills and use classic techniques to get up the hill! These skis were super easy to mount the NIS bindings onto and they skied really nicely in groomed tracks. Being so narrow, they were a bit unstable off-track, but still got me around. Nice and light. I like them. It would be helpful if they came with some recommendations on the best place to position the bindings.

I have the 197 length and weigh 150lbs and have got 2 days on them. First day was cold and hard icy conditions. Was not feel impressed as the skis felt real soft and would not grip or hold their edge too well. Today w fresher powder on the groomed track, they felt completely different and handled just fine. I have the fisher car classic waxable ski which I also bought at STP and these handle much better in colder hard conditions and have way more glide. I think the motion crowns will.be perfect for the warmer days above freezing when kick wax becomes difficult. I really like the NIS system and the rottefella his nnn binding can also be bought here for a great price. I have the alpine t20 plus boot, also bought here, is a great match for the ski. Holding the review at 4 stars until I get more time on the skis as I not sure till I get some more time on them. I do recommend them for intermediate or higher skiers who want to get on a bit skinnier ski that are a notch up in performance from the many wider entry level skis out there.

  • “The description says these are waxless, but I can't see any traction on the bases in the photo. What are they really?”
Asked by Stormlady from Unknown on 1/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
    • They do have a waxless base. All Fischer Crown Skis have waxless bases. Crown is what Fischer calls their waxless Base.

  • “Will the NNN-BC binding work with this ski?”
Asked by jane from upstate NY on 12/27/2012 12:00:00 AM
    • Yes - both the NNN#3 and BC fit the same NIS base. However, since this ski is intended for use on a groomed trail, and not backcountry skiing, there would be no reason to spend the extra money for the BC binding (or to ski with a slightly heavier binding. Save your money for BC bindings when they are needed.

Today, Fischer Skis travel in all the best circles – namely, winner's circles. Fischer's pioneering spirit has always pushed the limits of technological innovation. Employing a similar technique to that used in high quality musical instruments, Fischer Skis are Frequency Tuned to harmonize vibrations and improve turn behavior. Fischer boots orient the components to the anatomical shape of the foot, supporting the natural foot position. All Fischer gear is designed for the performance and comfort of the skier. So if you're going for gold or just a great day in the powder, go with Fischer.
