Fishpond Tech VestVerified Buyer Reviewed by The Junkie from Western Michigan on Thursday, August 31, 2017Fantastic Vest! Fishpond nailed it with this "Filson" type alternative and frankly improved upon it the design!
Still can't believe that I got the vest for 1/2 of what it's going for in any Fly Fishing Catalog.
Thanks Sierra Trading! You've done it again!
as describedVerified Buyer Reviewed by Lundhunter from PA on Thursday, August 3, 2017Spacious pockets, adjustable fit appears to be durable, check with me in 3 yrs.
Perfect sizeVerified Buyer Reviewed by Mike B from California on Monday, July 3, 2017Love the vintage look and the quality is second to none. More importantly, it holds all the gear I need plus room for more. I like that I can adjust the straps to wear high or low depending on how I'm fishing. Great product and fast shipping from STP.
Looking to carry lessReviewed by Patrick from Connecticut on Wednesday, June 14, 2017Wanted something for creeping around brook trout streams. That this has a larger pocket in back for water/lunch was the clincher. I also use a lanyard with this, for clippers primarily. No reason clippers couldn't be attached, I just don't have a spare zinger. I use the little side pockets for floatant, shot, tippet spools. Very pleased.
Light, well made and very comfortableVerified Buyer Reviewed by Coach from Rockies on Tuesday, June 13, 2017It's a great size. If you can't fit everything in, you're simply carrying too much stuff. I'm not sure how useful the little snap closure pockets on the outside are, and I wish it had a sleeve for my forecepts, but other than that it's pretty nice. The zippers are smooth, the storage options are great and the build is solid.
Not that great IMOReviewed by Douglas from Michigan on Monday, April 24, 2017I bought the FP Vaquero vest from my local fly shop at twice the STP price only to be disappointed within a few trips out on the river. I'm pretty wide at 230 lbs but the pouches on this vest get in the way while casting. The back is also hot from limited ventilation. Additionally the old fashioned brass zippers are difficult to zip with one hand. Finally, the pocket in back is too small for a rain jacket. Some good points too .... the super strong D ring on the back is the best I have ever seen for example. It looks cool ....but the functional problems vastly outweigh the cool factor.
Just what I neededVerified Buyer Reviewed by Walter from NY on Friday, March 31, 2017I love the vest........the straps can be adjusted so that the pockets ride either low on you - like side bags.....or up closer to your chest......and they include a large deep pocket on each side to hold large fly boxes......yet still gives the feel of a more minimalist vest so you feel less confined and restricted wen casting. And of course te vintage look is very nice.
So much better than other fishing vestsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Jen from Colorado on Sunday, February 5, 2017This vest is perfect! It's got the right amount of compartments and loops to store and attach all your gear. The shoulders have nice padding and there are multiple points to adjust so you can get a perfect fit.
Best Fly VestVerified Buyer Reviewed by Flyrodder Rudy from California on Tuesday, November 22, 2016I have nothing to complain about this fishing vest. It holds plenty of gear without tiring you out. Best investment I've done.
